Positive experiences start with clear expectations
Wetaskiwin Soccer Club recognizes the incredible experiences and opportunities that sport offers to children. These experiences are integral to both community development and enhanced child development. Safe environments for children foster positive experiences and healthy relationships between athletes and coaches.
To create a safe environment there must be clearly established guidelines, commonly understood expectations for professional boundaries between adults and athletes, and a sense of safety for anyone who needs to bring forward concerns of misconduct towards children. WSC complies with all CASA and ASA guidelines, as referenced in the following policies.

Responsible coaching, supported by policy
Our club is committed to supporting our coaches, volunteers, and staff by implementing policies for responsible coaching. These policies are designed with both athletes and adults in mind to ensure the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of all club members.
Note on Volunteer Screening Minimums
WSC adheres to the ASA policy with one adjustment: all members working directly with players must submit a Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check at minimum once per calendar year. The club provides a letter to those requiring a check so no additional costs are incurred.

If you have concerns related to the safe sport environment within Wetaskiwin Soccer Club, or wish to report an incident, please email the club administrator. Reports are handled confidentially and follow the club's Discipline, Complaints and Appeals process.
