Youth soccer players training with their coach

STANDARDS OF QUALITY SOCCER

Long Term Player Development

Right skills, right time. Our programming follows the Canada Soccer LTPD model and Grassroots Standards so every player grows at their own pace — and keeps a lifelong love of the game.

Players first

Wetaskiwin Soccer Club puts our players' needs first. Our goal is to create not only good athletes, but good people — the skills players learn are carried through life. Our Technical Director builds programming on the Canada Soccer LTPD model and Grassroots Standards, ensuring players learn the right skills at the right time for their stage of development. Combined with the support of coaches, parents and volunteers, this creates a lifelong love of the game.

Skill Centre Model

Our club uses the Skill Centre model, which allows players to move between teams within their age group throughout the season so everyone is challenged appropriately. It also supports players introduced to soccer at a later stage (U9–U13), ensuring they do not fall behind their peers.
